1. Supported Phones
CellSafety pushes the absolute maximum out of your smart phone. We currently support the
following operating systems.
1. Symbian / Nokia - Nokia is the world's global leader in cell phones and we are proud to
be partners. CellSafety is the only child safety application in the world that has been
officially approved by Nokia. CellSafety works on any Nokia s60 3rd edition GPS
phone.
2. Google Android - Android is the first open source mobile platform and is brand new to
the market. CellSafety is compatible with the G1 cell phone. More Android cell phones
are set to come out this year and CellSafety will be compatible with them all.
3. BlackBerry - BlackBerry has the highest market share in the USA and their handsets are
widely available on all carriers at an affordable price. We are compatible with any GPS
enabled BlackBerry phone! We are not compatible with the Verizon Network at this
time as they are well known for restricting GPS functionality in their cell phones.
Note: Feel free to contact Technical Support to verify that your phone is compatible with
CellSafety

2. Quick Start Guide
The following Quick Start Guide requires you have the following;
• A compatible phone
• A sim card with an active plan
• Your phone account has a data plan (able to connect to the internet)
• An active account with WebSafety
If you have answered YES to all of the above, we can get you setup and ready to go. Below is a
simple step by step guide on how to get CellSafety on your phone.
1. Go to the WebSafety website (http://www.websafety.com) and login with your Email
and Password, which you created when signing up.
2. Once logged in, you should see 'Activate My Phone' (alternatively you can click
'Activate Phone' from the menu).
3. First enter the Name of the phones holder followed by the cell phone number (you do
not need to enter the country code). Finally, enter in the IMEI of the phone. This is the
unique identification of the phone and can be found;
1. On the box of the phone
2. Behind the battery of the phone
3. On most phones you can press *#06# which should display the IMEI
4. BlackBerry users on CDMA networks such as Sprint or Verizon must enter in
their ESN number. This can be found behind the battery as well, or by going
into Options>>Status on your handset.
4. Press the Activate button when ready. This will send a text message to the phone you
just entered with a download link. Open the message and click the link (you may have to
press the down navigation key if you do not have a touch screen phone).
5. This will launch the installer on your phone. Follow the prompts until you see a message
saying "This phone has been registered with the WebSafety server". This means that
your phone is now fully protected. You can further configure this phone at anytime
using the My Phones interface.
Note: If at any step you either failed or received an error message, the most likely cause is that
you do not have an account or your account is inactive. To rectify this you should contact
support via http://www.websafety.com/support for further assistance.
3. Buying A New Phone
CellSafety is available on a wide range of handsets across all popular carriers! Most of our
compatible phones are available for FREE with a new plan on your existing favorite carrier. Get
in touch with your local shop to get a compatible phone today! Feel free to check in with
technical support to make sure the phone you want to purchase is compatible.
4. My Phones
This is the area where you can completely manage all the phones in your household from one
simple interface. You can do things such as modify the settings for each user individually, set
safe and blocked numbers to specific accounts, modify settings to save battery power and more.
Below is a feature breakdown to help you understand each option on the My Phones interface.
4.1 Personal Info
• Here are the most important details of your new phone. Enter the Name of the phone (for
example, Bobby). Next, enter in the phone number (you do not need to enter the country
code). Finally, you need to enter in the I.M.E.I. The I.M.E.I is the unique identification
number needed to install our software on your phone. These details ensure that
WebSafety is aware of this phone and it is very important they are 100% correct.
4.2 Contacts
• Here you can add numbers that are safe or numbers that you want blocked. Remember
that whenever you change a contact you must hit the large Update Account Info button
at the bottom of the screen.
◦ Safe numbers allows you to add any numbers which do not need to be
monitored. This area should be reserved for only a select few contacts (for
example, your child’s closest friends).
Caution: Once a number is in the safe list, all communications from that number
will no longer be monitored.
◦ Blocked numbers allows you to completely ignore all communication from any
number you have entered into this list. All phone calls and text messages from
or to this number will be ignored.
4.3 Features
To access the Features section of My Phones click on the Settings tab. In the Settings section
there are several options for customizing your phone. You can control further features, text
message monitoring and options regarding your phones battery power.
• Filter Internet - When checked, this option will make sure that all pornographic
websites on the current phone will be blocked. This should always be ON.
• No Texting and Driving - This is another option that should always be on. If the phone
is in a moving vehicle, text messaging will be disabled until the phone is stationary
again. You may want to turn this off if you are completely sure the phones holder will
not be driving. However, once this feature is turned off it will stay off until you turn it
back ON again.
• Speed Alert - Speed alert lets you set a certain speed in miles per hour or kilometers per
hour. If the phone goes above this speed you will be notified instantly.
4.4 Monitor Text Message
• Click 'Monitor text messages' to slide down more options. You can click the first checkbox
to disable text message monitoring for this phone. This means all text messages
from any number will no longer be monitored. The options below let you customize
what types of messages will cause an instant alert. It is strongly advised that you leave
all boxes in this section checked.
4.5 Battery Usage
• Click 'Battery usage' to slide down more options. Here you can control how often your
GPS enabled phone has its travelling speed checked. The more frequent the checks, the
more battery power it will use. The frequency also determines how quickly the phones
text messaging is blocked once driving.
4.6 Remove | Uninstall
• This section lets you uninstall the software from the phone. Click Uninstall to send a
message to the phone. This lets the phone know that it is allowed to be uninstalled. Once
this process is complete you can click Remove to remove this user from your account.
Note: Always remember to hit the Update Account Info button at the bottom of the interface to
save any changes you have made.
5. WhereRU
WhereRU is our all-in-one location manager. Find out where anyone in the family is, setup
designated zones, restrict text messaging in certain areas and much more.
5.1 View Location
• Here is where you can quickly locate any family member’s phone which you have
already setup using the My Phones interface. This is as easy as selecting a family
member (whom you have previously added) from the drop down box. If the phone is
GPS enabled and you have enabled Geo-Zone you will get an instant last location, if you
haven’t got to this yet, don’t worry we will cover it in the next step.
If you want to find a position accurate to the last minute, hit Locate Now. This will
contact the phone and show you its approximate location. If the phone is GPS enabled
the location will be very accurate, for non GPS phones the location will be accurate
within a mile.
5.2 Activate Geo-Zone
• Geo-Zone lets you set predefined areas and you will be notified when the phone enters
or leaves this zone. This feature is for GPS enabled phones only. Simply click the family
member you wish to activate this feature for, and click Activate. We will notify the
phone and this feature will be activated. You will receive a confirmation that Geo-Zone
has been enabled for this phone.
Note: You can disable Geo-Zone by selecting the family member and clicking Disable.
5.3 Add Zone
• Step 1 - This is where we can setup new zones or areas to be monitored. Start by
entering in the Zone name (for example Home) and the street number, street name and
zip code (for example, 123 Fake Street, 77505). Click the Search Now! button when
you are ready.
• Step 2 - Check the map to make sure the address you have entered is showing.
Assuming it is, you can move the small house icon on the map to adjust the exact
position of the address. You can also change the radius of the zone to make it smaller or
bigger by dragging the slider bar. When you are happy with this new zone click Next
Step!
• Step 3 - Now you will have to choose the options you require for this new zone. Start by
defining when you want to be notified. You can choose when the phone enters the zone,
leaves the zone or both.
You can also select “No text messaging in this zone” if you would like to disable text
messaging while within this zone (i.e. for school). Finally, select the family members
that this zone should apply to. Hold down the CTRL button to select multiple family
members. Click the Add Zone button when you are done.
5.4 View Zone
• Here is where you can manage all zones that you have already setup using the Add Zone
option. You can view the zone name, the family members this zone applies to, the alert
options, if text messaging is blocked in this zone and more.
If you want to allow or disable text messaging in this zone simply hit false or true to
toggle this. On the right there are Edit, Delete and View options. Click View and see a
map pop-up of the zone and its radius, click delete to remove this zone, or click edit if
you would like to setup this zone again.
